Esper Spell Tiers


A random number of spells between 1 and 5 are selected using a uniform distribution for each esper resulting in an average of 27 * 3 = 81 spells. Learn rates for each spell are chosen using a triangular distribution of the 12 possible rates. Spells are divided into tiers G through S. Each esper spell slot randomly selects a tier using corresponding weights. For tiers G through A spells are selected using a uniform distribution. Spells in tier S each have their own individual weight.

As examples,
9.5% of the 81 spells will be randomly selected from tier A using a uniform distribution. Therefore, each seed will contain an average of 0.095 * 81 = 7.695 tier A spells and each spell in tier A will have a 9.5 / 7 = 1.35 percent chance of being in each esper spell slot.

1.5% of the 81 spell slots will contain a spell from tier S. Of those, 60% will be Merton, 30% will be Quick, and 10% will be Ultima. Therefore, each seed will contain an average of 0.015 * 81 = 1.215 tier S spells, 0.015 * 0.60 * 81 = 0.729 Mertons, 0.015 * 0.30 * 81 = 0.3645 (~1 in 3 seeds), 0.015 * 0.10 * 81 = 0.1215 (~1 in 8 seeds).
